Greg Langdon has been teaching tennis in southern California for over twenty five years.
Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Greg's career as a tennis instructor began in
1983, as manager and assistant pro of the Beverly Hills Tennis Center. Two years later he
became Head Professional.

In 1986, Greg’s reputation as a specialist in teaching the fundamentals of tennis continued
to grow quickly. With a burgeoning clientele, he formed his own tennis instruction company,
Langdon’s Professional Tennis, which he operated in Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles
until his relocation to Orange County in 1992.

In 1993, he was then appointed Executive Director of the California Division of the
United
States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) the national trade association for tennis
Greg Langdon
teaching professionals. Among the many accomplishments during his three-year tenure,he created and published
'ProFile', the bi-monthly divisional newsletter, and created and coordinated the inaugural Southern California Tennis
Convention. In 1994, he received the highly coveted
Professional of the Year award.

In 1995 he founded
TENNIS IOI, an independent tennis instruction business in south Orange County, specializing in
private and group instruction for beginning adults and children. He has been Director of Tennis for the
Aliso Viejo
Community Association tennis program in the city of Aliso Viejo, one of the first recreational programs developed for
the new city, offering year-round instruction for groups of all ages and levels.

In January, 2009,
TENNIS 101 was awarded the contract to provide tennis professional services to the City of
Newport Beach at Mariners Park. In conjunction with his instructors, he is proud to bring a new level of
professional-ism to the tennis program in Newport Beach, providing group lessons for children, teens, and adults, as
well as the extensive summer tennis camp program, conducted by TENNIS 101 subsidiary,
OC Tennis Camps.

Throughout his career, Greg has built a formidable reputation and successful business on his patient and dedicated
work with children, and his care and attention to detail when working with adults.

Kristi Atkinson
As the newest addition to our staff and an extremely valuable asset to our programming in
Aliso Viejo and Newport Beach, Kristi actually takes her original court experience from a
volleyball court.  She played on the Women’s Professional Beach Volleyball Tour for over 8
years.  From her highly accomplished athletic background as a player and coach, she has
now transitioned into full-time tennis instruction with flying colors.

In addition to her knowledge of, and passion for, the sport of tennis, Kristi understands the
strategy and skills of singles and doubles and still plays competitively herself. Moreover, she
has dedicated her tennis instruction career to passing along her techniques for learning the
fundamentals, in a patient, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic style.

For four years she was an assistant on her son's and daughter’s JV and Varsity tennis
teams at San Clemente High School.  Last season she was on the tennis coaching staff at Mater Dei working with
the girls frosh-soph team. Most recently, she has spent time understudying the philosophies and techniques of the
Langdon Method to provide seamless integration of her skills as an instructor into all of the TENNIS 101
programming.
