In 1986, Greg’s reputation as a specialist in teaching the fundamentals of tennis continued to grow quickly. With a burgeoning clientele, he formed his own tennis instruction company, Langdon’s Professional Tennis, which he operated in Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles until his relocation to Orange County in 1992.

Among the many accomplishments during his three-year tenure,he created and published 'ProFile', the bi-monthly divisional newsletter, and created and coordinated the inaugural Southern California Tennis Convention. In 1994, he received the highly coveted Professional of the Year award.
In 1995 he founded TENNIS IOI, an independent tennis instruction business in south Orange County, specializing in private and group instruction for beginning adults and children. He has been Director of Tennis for the Aliso Viejo Community Association tennis program in the city of Aliso Viejo, one of the first recreational programs developed for the new city, offering year-round instruction for groups of all ages and levels.
In January, 2009, TENNIS 101 was awarded the contract to provide tennis professional services to the City of Newport Beach at Mariners Park. In conjunction with his instructors, he is proud to bring a new level of professional-ism to the tennis program in Newport Beach, providing group lessons for children, teens, and adults, as well as the extensive summer tennis camp program, conducted by TENNIS 101 subsidiary, OC Tennis Camps.
Throughout his career, Greg has built a formidable reputation and successful business on his patient and dedicated work with children, and his care and attention to detail when working with adults.
As Director of Junior Development, John brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the programs of TENNIS 101, Newport Beach Tennis, and OC Tennis Camps.
As a college player, John started in singles and doubles for Palomar College in San Diego, and in 1983 played for San Diego State. John also attended Harry Hopman’s Advanced Player Academy in Saddlebrook, FL during the summer of 1982. At the same time, he worked as a tennis professional at the Courtyard in Escondido, and coached at Rancho Bernardo Inn Tennis College. After college, John continued to play regional tournaments while working as the Club Manager and Head Pro at Tennis Escondido, between 1985-86. Over the years, John has always been a student of the game, and has learned from, and worked with, a variety of successful coaches including Dan Spies, Ian Russell, and Phil Dent.
John has also been active in managing events. He was the Tournament Director for the ACE Cancer Tennis Classic in San Diego and the Tournament Director for the CHOC Padrinos Tennis Classic (in Orange County) for 5 years, In 1986, John was appointed Director of Tennis at John Wayne Tennis Club, and served as resident pro at the Four Seasons Resort & Hotel in Newport Beach for 5 years.
He brings to our TENNIS INTENSIVES program a teaching philosophy that combines traditional methods with contemporary technique defined as the modern game, adhering to the core principles of sound fundamentals while enabling each player to develop their own style.
